About Our School

SGRR Public School Bombay Bagh is nestled in the heart of Doon Valley in sprawling 334 Acres Campus. It is situated amid beautiful surroundings of greenery and natural beauty .The school is a co-educational institution, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. It is a Day-Cum Boarding School and is running classes play group to XII with Science,Commerce and Humanities Stream.

The foundation of the school was laid in 1967 by the ninth Guru of Shri Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib Brahmleen Indresh Charan Das ji. He was a freedom fighter, a great visionary, philanthropist and a man of principles whose sole aim was to impart total education to the under privileged segments of the society at nominal fee. His vision of “Education to All” is being fulfilled and flourished under the able guidance and dynamic leadership of his successor Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji, the tenth Guru of Darbar Saheb.

The Chairman of the Mission,Shri Mahant Devendra Das ji Maharaj added new dimensions to the social service and pursuit of it by starting Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health Sciences,College of Nursing and College of Paramedical Science. Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital and all these Institutions are epitome of excellence of academic and Equality health care respectively and catering the populace of Uttrakhand and its neighbouring states. Shri Guru Ram Rai University was founded by him in 2017 to serve the purpose of Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission.

Many National and International Awards have been conferred upon Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj in recognition for exemplary contribution of Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission towards Nation Building under the leadership of his Holiness. Swami Vivekanand National Award was conferred upon him in the year 2011 in recognition of outstanding and extraordinary contribution towards nation building, Bharat Shiksha, Ratan Award was awarded to him for his individual achievements and distinguished services to the Nation Global Achievers foundation.

For strengthening the economic condition of India and contributing to the field of social work, he was honoured with the Asia Pacific International Award on 18th May 2012 Tashkent Uzbekistan. Dr Shivanand Memorial Award and Uttrakhand Gaurav Award were also conferred upon Shri Maharaj ji in the year 2012 for his long dedicated services to all of sections of under-privileged people by providing quality education from primary to Higher Professional level and Health services.
